The project "Sustainable Cleaning Practices for the Protection of Water Resources in the Tourism Industry", acronym #BlueLaundries, aims to promote sustainable cleaning practices in the Hospitality sector, emphasizing the necessity to reduce the environmental footprint associated with the consumption of water and chemicals, which can potentially end up in the natural environment, impacting public health. It seeks to contribute to spreading the message for less toxic in the environment and water saving, sustainable products with a lower lifecycle footprint, and the implementation of circular practices to improve the eco-efficiency of the sector as essential cross-sectoral elements of sustainable development, taking into account the coherence of development policies. The project duration is 18 months and is implemented by Horizon – Center of Research, Technology and Innovation in collaboration with the Decentralized Administration of Peloponnese, Western Greece and the Ionian.
